This blacklist is considered a spam-based blacklist and lists individual IP addresses or even the entire range. The individual IP addresses or entire ranges are the ones responsible for sending unsolicited bulk emails.

How Woody’s SMTP Blacklist Works

Woody’s SMTP blacklist blocks spam sent by spammers through the harvester software. Spammers sending emails to listme@blacklist.woody.ch are added automatically to Woody’s SMTP blacklist. To remove yourself from Woody’s SMTP blacklist, you first request for removal but first lookup for your IP address. If it appears when you search, just request to be removed. Ensure you explain the circumstances under which you were listed and the reasons you think you need to be removed. Note that IP addresses whose spam-like behavior is repeated will most likely be relisted on Woody’s SMTP blacklist. ZAPBL BLACKLIST

Administrators of this blacklist are confidential and could be released under various circumstances.

The majority of the listings on ZapBL blacklists expire after some time but administrators may flag some IP addresses and domains in order to prolong the listing time. WPBL BLACKLIST

  • All entries in this blacklist are temporary and can expire with time.
  • Any IP address is removable by anyone through the blocklist lookup facility.
  • Hosts in WPBL are not taken as spammers and it does not mean there are those running a spamming business. Mostly, sites are listed after they are infected by viruses or compromised by intruders. Again, most spam is sent with no consent or knowledge of site admins. Spam can be eliminated if you secure your hosts and fix the configurations.

WPBL is known to detect considerable spam amounts daily and the thresholds of being listed are significantly low. Thus, emails should not be blocked simply because an IP address is on the WPBL list. How to Query WPBL

The DNSBL is queried under the db.wpbl.info and can return 127.0.0.2 if such an IP is listed in the WPBL database as another source of spam. Perform a test through a DNS query particularly for the dummy record, 2.0.0.127.db.wpbl.info.
